All teams must act in an environmentally responsible manner. Teams found traveling on restricted roads or areas designated ‘out of bounds’ will be disqualified.ġ1. No team shall receive any assistance from anyone outside the race.ġ0. Teams are required to assist any racer that is in need of medical assistance. No penalty will be incurred for receiving assistance from another team. Racers not wearing safety gear will be disqualified.ĩ. Safety equipment must be worn for each specified discipline ex. Racers not wearing a race bib or carrying mandatory gear will be accessed a time penalty. All Mandatory gear must be carried at all times. All team members must wear the race bib at all times. Prizes for the top teams in each category.Ĩ. If a team arrives at the finish after the race cut off time they will lose one CP for every minute they are late. Scoring: The team crossing the finish line first with all mandatory CPs and the most optional CPs will win. At the end of the race, teams must hand in their passport to qualify for the unmanned check points.ħ. CPs must be obtained in the order specified by the course instructions.Ħ. Teams must travel together (within 50m) throughout the race. Refer to it throughout the race and protect it from moisture.ĥ. The course instructions will include a brief description of particular obstacles to watch for throughout the race and a list of all CPs on the course. Remember NO GPS but bike computers are allowed.Ĥ. Protect your map with a waterproof map case. The maps in the race package are the only maps permitted on the course. Teams will collect a passport and at each checkpoint, will punch the passport to confirm completion.ģ. The race package your team receives will include all the maps required for the race, course instructions and all CPs will be plotted.Ģ. Mystery Challengesĭuring the race, your team may be given a special task to complete. The paddling will be outside of RMNP so no AIS (aquatic invasive species) needed but be responsible and bring clean boats. All three have advantages and disadvantages. Requirement is your whole team will need to travel by water. Optional equipment- canoe, packraft, kayak bring your choice. Biking will range from easy road riding, fresh single track and some abusive trail. Bikingīike terrain will be single track, double track, gravel roads and fresh pavement. Depending on the route you choose your feet and more will get wet from crossing swamps and small creeks. The on-foot section will mainly be off trail. Your team will also receive a set of written instructions to aid you in getting from one CP to the next. Knowledge of how to take a bearing with a compass is mandatory. Only maps supplied by race organizers are permitted. Your team will receive a combination of 1:50000 topographic, google and/or Municipal. AJ at Sportys also promised the showers will still be on. Grassed area for tents and parking lot for trailers. *Camping included Friday and Saturday night. Just south of Riding Mountain National Park. Location: Race HQ- Sporty’s RV Park and Restaurant Onanole, MB. Some checkpoints will be optional so that all teams have a chance to finish. Your team will navigate to checkpoints (CP) and punch your team passports to confirm completion. Teams of 2 to 4 people (teams may be all male, all female or co-ed, but no solo racers) will travel together throughout the race. The Moose Knuckles Adventure Race will take between 8 to 10 hours to complete, depending on your rate of travel and decision making.
